Akash Deep IPL Stats, Price, Runs, Age, Century, Debut, Team with Last 10 IPL Innings
Akash Deep is a right-arm fast-medium bowler from Bihar who plays domestic cricket for Bengal and made his name in Test cricket before his IPL career truly took shape. An India Test debutant — he debuted against Bangladesh in September 2024 — Akash Deep has had a stop-start IPL journey: three seasons of cameos with Royal Challengers Bangalore, then an INR 8 crore move to Lucknow Super Giants in the 2025 mega auction, before being released ahead of the 2026 auction. Through the 2026 season, he has played 14 IPL matches and taken 10 wickets.
Born on December 15, 1996, in Dehri, Bihar, Akash Deep was 29 years old in October 2026. He is known for sharp new-ball movement and a willingness to bowl hard lengths, though injuries — including a back injury during the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy — have repeatedly interrupted his white-ball progress.
Akash Deep IPL Career Overview
Akash Deep entered the IPL in the 2022 mega auction, when Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for INR 20 lakh. He played five matches in his debut season and took five wickets — his most productive IPL campaign to date, built on the new-ball movement that had made him a domestic standout for Bengal.
The next two seasons at RCB brought only three more games combined: two matches and three wickets in 2023, and a single appearance in 2024. Across three RCB seasons he played eight matches and took seven wickets at an economy of 11.67 — expensive, but with the raw ingredients of swing and seam always visible.
The 2025 mega auction changed everything. Lucknow Super Giants signed him for INR 8 crore, making him their third-most expensive buy of the auction — a huge vote of confidence in a bowler with only eight IPL games behind him. His 2025 season was hampered by the back injury he had picked up in Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy; he missed the start of the season while rehabilitating at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru alongside Jasprit Bumrah, and eventually played six matches, taking three wickets at an economy of 12.05. His last IPL match was against Gujarat Titans in May 2025.
LSG released him ahead of the 2026 auction cycle, and he entered that auction with a base price of INR 1 crore.
Akash Deep Year-Wise IPL Performance

| 2026 | – | 0 | 0 | – | – |
| Career | RCB, LSG | 14 | 10 | 3/45 | 11.83 |
The 2022 debut season remains his best IPL year — five wickets in five games, the only season in which he held down a regular spot.
Akash Deep IPL Bowling Stats
Akash Deep has taken 10 IPL wickets from 14 matches, at an average of 54.80 and an economy of 11.83, with best figures of 3/45. In 278 deliveries, he has conceded heavily — the economy rate tells the story of a bowler still learning the white-ball craft at the highest level.
His domestic T20 numbers are better: 59 wickets from 53 T20s at an average of 26.23 and an economy of 8.32. The gap between those figures and his IPL returns is where his challenge lies — translating red-ball discipline and domestic white-ball success into IPL consistency.
Akash Deep IPL Teams
Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB gave Akash Deep his IPL debut in 2022 and kept him for three seasons. Eight matches, seven wickets — a squad bowler rather than a first-choice pick, but one whose new-ball spells occasionally sparkled.
Lucknow Super Giants
LSG’s INR 8 crore purchase in the 2025 mega auction was the defining moment of his IPL career — and a big gamble given his limited IPL record. Injuries restricted him to six matches and three wickets in 2025, and the franchise released him before the 2026 auction.
Akash Deep IPL Price and Auction History
| Year | Team | Status | IPL Price |

| 2025 | Lucknow Super Giants | Sold | INR 8 crore |
| 2026 | – | Released by LSG; entered auction | Base INR 1 crore |
From INR 20 lakh to INR 8 crore in three years — the price jump reflects how highly franchises rate Indian pace, even with a thin IPL resume.

Has Akash Deep Scored an IPL Century?
No. Akash Deep is a tailender. He has scored 25 IPL runs with a highest score of 17 — centuries are not remotely part of his role.
Recent IPL Innings (Last 10)
Akash Deep’s recent IPL action has been limited by injury and selection. His last ten IPL appearances span the end of his RCB stint and his 2025 LSG season:
| # | Match | Figures |
|---|---|---|
| — | — | — |
| 1 | LSG vs GT, May 2025 | 0/49 |
| 2-6 | LSG, IPL 2025 (five further games) | 3 wickets total |
| 7 | RCB, IPL 2024 (one match) | 0 wickets |
| 8-10 | RCB, IPL 2023 (two matches + bench time) | 3 wickets |
The standout recent spell in his career remains his best IPL figures of 3/45, and his 2022 season — five wickets in five games — remains the benchmark he is chasing.
Akash Deep Playing Style and Role
Akash Deep is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who moves the new ball both ways and bowls a heavy ball into the pitch. His Test success comes from patience and seam position; in T20 cricket he is still developing the variation game — slower balls, wide yorkers — that the format demands. His economy of 11.83 shows the learning curve.
He bats right-handed and is a genuine tailender, though his domestic T20 batting has shown occasional late-order hitting.
Akash Deep Age
Akash Deep was born on December 15, 1996, in Dehri, Bihar. He was 29 years old in October 2026. He plays domestic cricket for Bengal, where he has been a mainstay of the pace attack for years.
Akash Deep Current IPL Status
Released by Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the 2026 auction, Akash Deep entered that auction with a base price of INR 1 crore. He continues to play for Bengal in domestic cricket and remains part of India’s Test plans — his red-ball career is thriving even as his IPL path stays uncertain. At 29, with 59 domestic T20 wickets, a strong season could easily bring him back into the IPL.
