Just a few days following Gayle’s double century against Zimbabwe, the second World Cup double century emerged, this time from the bat of New Zealand’s opener, Martin Guptill. Interestingly, he achieved this feat against the West Indies during the fourth Quarterfinal of the 2015 ODI World Cup in Wellington.

New Zealand won the coin toss and elected to bat first. Guptill launched an assault right from the outset, consistently finding the boundaries. He reached a fifty in just 65 balls and then took 111 deliveries to reach his century.

In their pursuit of the target, the West Indies failed to produce a substantial performance from any of their batters. They were bowled out for 250 runs in 30.3 overs, resulting in a defeat by 143 runs for the West Indies.
