NPL Schedule Format
All eight teams play each other once in a single round-robin. That is seven league games per team and 28 league matches in total, and the NPL match schedule below lists every one of them. The top four teams on the points table qualify for the playoffs.
The playoffs follow the standard four-match structure. Qualifier 1 on 17 November pits the first-placed team against the second-placed team; the winner goes straight to the final. The Eliminator on 18 November is third versus fourth, with the loser knocked out. Qualifier 2 on 19 November is the loser of Qualifier 1 against the winner of the Eliminator, and the winner of that game takes the second final spot. The final is on 21 November, with a rest day on 20 November before it.
Every NPL match — league and playoffs — is played at the same ground: the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu. There is no home-and-away split. On double-header days the first game starts at 12:30 PM Nepal time and the second at 4:30 PM Nepal time. Nepal is 45 minutes ahead of Pakistan, so those starts are 11:45 AM and 3:45 PM Pakistan time. On single-header days there is one evening game at 4:30 PM NPT (3:45 PM PKT).
NPL 2026 Teams
Biratnagar Kings — Eastern Nepal franchise, built around Sandeep Lamichhane, Nepal’s most recognisable cricketer and a proven T20 wicket-taker.
Chitwan Rhinos — Represent the Chitwan region; a young squad that has punched above its weight in both previous seasons.
Janakpur Bolts — The inaugural 2024 champions. Beat Sudurpaschim Royals in the first final and remain one of the league’s benchmark sides.
Karnali Yaks — Named after the Karnali region; known for a strong domestic core led by experienced Nepal internationals.
Kathmandu Gurkhas — The capital-city franchise, always among the best supported, with a mix of Nepal regulars and overseas professionals.
Lumbini Lions — The defending champions. Won the 2025 title by beating Sudurpaschim Royals by six wickets in the final, and open Season 3 against the same opponents.
Pokhara Avengers — The Pokhara-based side; produced the 2025 season’s highest run-scorer in Adam Rossington (323 runs).
Sudurpaschim Royals — The far-western province’s team, captained by Dipendra Singh Airee. Finished runners-up in both 2024 and 2025, losing the final to Janakpur Bolts and then to Lumbini Lions. The nearly-men of the NPL, and the team with the most to prove this season.
