Shpageeza Cricket League 2024: The Shpageeza Cricket League (SCL) is gearing up for its 9th edition, set to begin on August 12, 2024, in Kabul. This tournament, Afghanistan’s premier domestic T20 event, will feature five teams competing in a double round-robin format. The SCL 2024 will run for 14 days, with 21 matches scheduled, including 10 doubleheaders. The grand finale of Shpageeza Cricket League is on August 25, 2024, where the top two teams will battle it out for the championship.

Since its inception in 2013, the Shpageeza Cricket League has grown in stature, becoming a significant fixture in Afghanistan’s cricket calendar. The tournament has seen various champions over the years, with the Speenghar Tigers emerging as the most successful team, having won the title three times.

Meanwhile, the Mis-e-Ainak Knights and Kabul Eagles have each lifted the trophy twice. The Mis-e-Ainak Knights also hold the distinction of being the most consistent team, reaching the finals five times. On the other hand, the Band-e-Amir Dragons, led by Rashid Khan, won their lone title in 2017 and remain a formidable contender.
