1. Rohit Sharma – Only Batsman With Three ODI Double Centuries

When it comes to scoring double hundreds in ODIs, Rohit Sharma is the only batsman to score three double centuries in ODI cricket, a unique record that no other batsman has come close to breaking in odi history yet.

In a span of just over 5 years between 2013 to 2018, Rohit has scored not one, not two but scored 3 double centuries in ODI cricket. This is a unique record that may not be broken for a very long time.

Rohit’s first double century came against Australia in 2013 when he scored 209. He scored his next double century in 2014 against Sri Lanka, setting the highest individual score in ODI history. He followed it up with a third double century, again against Sri Lanka, scoring 208* while remaining not out.

2. Martin Guptill – Highest Score by a New Zealander 

Kiwi opener Martin Guptill holds the record for the highest individual score by a New Zealander in ODIs.Martin Guptill’s unbeaten 237 is one of the highest scores in ODIs, placing him in the double century list. He achieved this during the 2015 World Cup quarter-final against the West Indies in Wellington.

Guptill hit 24 fours and 11 sixes, helping New Zealand reach 393-6, their highest ever ODI total.His 237 is also the second-highest score in men’s ODI cricket, behind Rohit Sharma’s 264.

3. Virender Sehwag

Virender Sehwag became the third Indian batsman to score a double century in ODIs, joining the list of players with double centuries. His double century came against the West Indies in Indore in December 2011. Batting first after winning the toss, Sehwag scored 219 off 149 balls, helping India post 418-5.

4. Chris Gayle (138 balls) vs ZIM, 2015

Chris Gayle previously held the record for the fastest ODI double-century: 200 off 138 balls against Zimbabwe at the 2015 World Cup. Gayle went on to score 215 runs off 147 balls, including 10 fours and 16 sixes.

He and Marlon Samuels (133* off 156) combined for a 372-run second-wicket partnership. West Indies scored 372 runs, and Zimbabwe were all out for 289—West Indies won by 73 runs (DLS method).

5. Fakhar Zaman

Pakistani left-hander Fakhar Zaman owns the record for being the fastest player to score a double century in ODIs.

In July 2018, batting against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, Zaman raced to 200 in just 156 balls. His innings of 210 not out was studded with 24 fours and 5 sixes. 

By reaching the milestone in 156 balls, Zaman broke the previous fastest double century record held by Indian opener Ishan Kishan at 131 balls.

Ishan Kishan, the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, holds the record for the fastest double century in ODI history.In December 2022, during the third ODI against Bangladesh, Kishan scored an impressive 210 off just 131 balls. His innings included 10 sixes and 24 fours, dominating the Bangladeshi bowlers.

Kishan broke Chris Gayle’s previous record of 138 balls, making a strong statement on the international stage.

7. Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill is the most recent player to register an ODI double, joining the list of cricketers who have scored a double century in ODI cricket. He achieved this feat in January 2023 against New Zealand in Hyderabad. Gill scored 208 runs off 149 balls, with 9 sixes and 19 fours.

Gill’s double century was the highest individual score in an ODI match between India and New Zealand. It also surpassed the record of the fastest ODI double previously held by Ishan Kishan.

Gill’s innings helped India post a mammoth total of 349/8. New Zealand chased bravely, but fell short by 12 runs. Gill was adjudged the player of the match for his brilliant batting performance.

Despite struggling with cramps, Maxwell smashed a record-breaking double century, pulling Australia from the brink of defeat to an incredible World Cup win over Afghanistan. His 201 off 128 balls secured their spot in the semifinals, and it’s considered one of the greatest ODI innings ever!

8. Sachin Tendulkar – First Male Cricketer to Score ODI Double Century

Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar broke nearly every batting record in his 24-year career. On February 24, 2010, in Gwalior, he became the first cricketer in men’s cricket to score a double century in ODIs.

Facing a strong South African bowling attack with Steyn and Morkel, Tendulkar played a brilliant innings, remaining unbeaten on 200 off 147 balls, with 25 fours and 3 sixes.
