#2. Rajat Patidar’s 112* off 54 Balls in 2022

In the 2014 IPL final between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Kings XI Punjab, wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha played a whirlwind 115 runs knock.

He got his century in just 49 balls, the fastest in playoffs then. This included 10 fours and 8 sixes at a strike rate of 209.

Other Players who Scored Fast Centuries  in Playoffs

Some other batters too have scored fast hundreds in these high-stakes IPL knockout matches:

Virender Sehwag – 122 off 58 balls (2014)
Murali Vijay – 113 off 58 balls (2012)
Shane Watson – 117 off 57 balls (2018)

These explosive knocks by attacking batsmen have come in various playoff matches over the years. They show how scoring fast impacts the result of a tense IPL knockout encounter.

As IPL reaches the knockout stage, scoring quick runs becomes more important to teams. Playoff games often go down to the wire and can change in a few overs.

When a batsman scores a blistering century, he can deflate the opposition completely. It also gives the bowlers a good total to defend.

Over the years, many batting records have been broken in playoffs too. These fiery knocks have impacted several crucial games.
