Highest Partnership in IPL all Season
Some of the highest partnerships in IPL and other IPL partnership records can be attributed to the high number of players that participate each year. T20, cricket’s smallest format, is considered to be more batsman-friendly. On numerous occasions, even the best bowlers failed to hit the ball out of the park during the competition.
Highest partnerships in IPL: Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers – 229 Runs
Highest partnership in IPL history: Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers met again just over a year after they took on the Mumbai Indians. The Gujarat Lions are their opponents this time. When Chris Gayle was dismissed, AB de Villiers grabbed the ball right away and started striking. Moreover, Kohli was keeping up with him as well. As a result, both players completed their century in record time. In the end, the score was 248/3.
In the last over, AB de Villiers stayed unbeaten on 129 from 52 balls, while Kohli was out for 109 from 55 balls. RCB beat the Lions 144 runs to win by bowling them out for 104 runs in the second innings.
Second Highest partnership in IPL: Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers – 215* Runs
During a 2015 IPL match at the Wankhede Stadium, the Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to bat first. As Chris Gayle went down early in the game, they were off to a bad start. AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli, on the other hand, put up a wonderful partnership during their time together. De Villiers had no idea what the Mumbai Indians’ flimsy bowling attack was capable of, which gave the opposition no chance.
The South Africans thrashed the bowling attack, scoring 133 runs in just 59 deliveries. Kohli had a score of 82 runs off just 50 deliveries. As a result, the score was 235/1. Although MI made every effort to score runs, they were only able to do so 196 times.
Third Highest partnership in IPL: Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh – 206 Runs
Kings XI Punjab captain Adam Gilchrist and former Australian All-rounder Shaun Marsh were part of an assault on Dharamshala in 2011. In the fourth over, they joined hands in order to punish the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowling attack. As a result of delivering 27 extras, the bowlers failed to aid their own cause by delivering such a large number of extras.
In response, Marsh remained unbeaten on 79 runs off 49 balls after Gilchrist was removed for 106 runs off 55 balls. The Royal Challengers Bangalore team collapsed in the chase, falling short by 111 runs thanks to Piyush Chawla’s four-wicket haul.
Fourth Highest partnershis in IPL Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli – 204*
In the IPL 2012, Chris Gayle began his innings cautiously after being given the opportunity of batting first in a crucial match. During the opening rounds, he lost Tilakaratne Dilshan, his opening partner. Soon after he was joined by Virat Kohli, the captain. After the onslaught of the Delhi Daredevils was crushed by the Jamaican.
Gayle scored 128 from 62 balls. Kohli finished with a score of 73 off 53 as a second fiddle to Gayle and finished with a score. As a result, the Daredevils did not go down without a fight in the match, coming within 21 runs of the goal despite their stiff opposition. Although Kohli and Gayle are to be given credit for their massive partnership, the target set was simply too high.
Fifth Highest Partnership David Warner and Naman Ojha – 189*
David Warner and Indian wicketkeeper Naman Ojha scored unbroken 189 runs as Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner and Indian wicketkeeper Naman Ojha recorded an unbeaten partnership in 2012. It was not a good start for the Delhi Daredevils, who had to chase a massive 188 runs to win, as skipper Virender Sehwag was dismissed early in the innings.
On the other hand, Warner, on the other hand, began to let go, and there was no going back. Warner had the solid support of Ojha’s innings as well.In the 17th over, Warner made his century, and the Daredevils secured their victory.
