England emerged as the champions of the 2022 T20 World Cup, defeating Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on November 13, 2022.
In the final, Pakistan batted first and scored 137/8 in their 20 overs.Shan Masood top-scored with 38 runs, while Sam Curran took 3 wickets for England.In reply, England chased down the target in 19 overs, reaching 138/5.
Ben Stokes played a crucial knock of 52* off 49 balls, guiding England to victory.This was England’s second T20 World Cup title, having previously won the tournament in 2010.
With this victory, England also became the first team to hold both the ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup titles simultaneously.Sam Curran was named Player of the Match in the final for his brilliant spell of 3/12.He was also adjudged the Player of the Tournament for his consistent performances throughout the World Cup.

Australia won their maiden T20 World Cup title in 2021 by defeating New Zealand by 8 wickets in the final.Chasing a target of 173, Australia’s Mitchell Marsh played a match-winning knock of 77 not out off 50 balls, making the chase look easy.
Mitchell Marsh was well-supported by David Warner, who scored 53 off 38 balls.Australia reached the target with 7 balls to spare, finishing at 173/2 in 18.5 overs.Marsh was Player of the Match for his brilliant innings.
Earlier, New Zealand had scored 172/4 in their 20 overs, with Kane Williamson top-scoring with 85 off 48 balls.However, it proved insufficient as the Aussies chased down the total comfortably to lift their first-ever T20 World Cup trophy.

#6. T20 World Cup 2016 Winner – West Indies
The West Indies made history by becoming the first team to win the T20 World Cup twice, clinching the 2016 title in India.They defeated England by 4 wickets in a thrilling final at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on April 3, 2016.
Batting first, England posted 155/9 in their 20 overs, with Joe Root top-scoring with 54 runs off 36 balls.In reply, the West Indies chased down the target with 2 balls to spare, reaching 161/6.
Marlon Samuels played a match-winning knock of 85 not out off 66 balls, anchoring the West Indies innings.With 19 runs needed off the final over, Carlos Brathwaite hit four consecutive sixes off Ben Stokes to seal a stunning victory for the West Indies.

In the final at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the West Indies defeated hosts Sri Lanka by 36 runs.
Marlon Samuels played a match-winning knock of 78 off 56 balls in the final, rescuing the West Indies from a precarious position of 14/2 after the powerplay and 32/2 after 10 overs.
Samuels’ innings included 3 fours and 6 sixes, propelling the West Indies to a competitive total of 137/6.
In reply, Sri Lanka could only manage 101 all out in 18.4 overs, with Sunil Narine picking up 3/9.

In the 2010 T20 World Cup, England made history by becoming the first non-Asian team to win the title.They defeated Australia by 7 wickets in the final at Kensington Oval, Barbados on May 16.After losing their opener to West Indies, England won all remaining matches. In the final, Australia scored 147/6 with David Hussey’s 59 runs.
England chased it down in 17 overs, reaching 148/3 with the help of a 111-run stand between Craig Kieswetter (63) and Kevin Pietersen (47).Pietersen was named Player of the Tournament in 2010 T20 world cup for his 248 runs, while Kieswetter’s 63 runs made him the final’s Man of the Match award.
