Pakistan to play in Five Cities
The BCCI has announced that Pakistan will play their World Cup matches in five cities in India: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata. The decision to host Pakistan’s matches in these cities was made in light of the ongoing tensions between the two countries.
Chennai was specifically chosen due to its reputation for having peaceful crowds. The city has a long history of hosting cricket matches between India and Pakistan, and the crowds have traditionally been well-behaved. The other four cities were chosen because they are all major cricketing hubs in India.
The BCCI has assured that all necessary security arrangements will be made for Pakistan’s matches. The matches will be played under the same security protocols as all other matches in the tournament.
It remains to be seen whether Pakistan will actually travel to India for the World Cup. The two countries have not played a bilateral cricket series since 2012, and there is still a lot of tension between them. However, the BCCI is hopeful that Pakistan will participate in the tournament.
