Why This Final Matters

India are the defending Asian Games champions, having won gold at Hangzhou 2023, and have won the last six completed T20Is against Pakistan — most recently by 61 runs at the T20 World Cup in Colombo in February 2026. Pakistan, led by the in-form Sahibzada Farhan, are chasing a maiden men’s cricket gold at the Asian Games. With spin expected to dominate on a two-paced Nisshin surface and clear weather forecast, a full 20-over contest is on the cards.
