#2. Chris Gayle (WI) – 49 sixes in 34 innings

Chris Gayle, the greatest ODI batsman of the West Indies, holds the record for hitting the most sixes in the ODI World Cup. Representing West Indies in 35 World Cup matches, Gayle slogged 49 sixes in ODI World Cups.

The batting stalwart scored 1186 runs at a decent average of 35.93 in his outings. Gayle’s hard-hitting style was so fierce that it often intimidated the bowlers mentally.

#3. Glenn Maxwell (Australia) – 43 sixes in 25 innings

Maxwell hit a record 28 sixes during the 2023 World Cup, including the fastest century in a World Cup chase against Afghanistan.

In the ICC World Cup History, he smashed a total of 37 sixes in 23 matches, which greatly contributed to his impressive record of 1207 World Cup runs.
