#1. CSK’s Highest Total: 246/5 vs RR in 2010 

In the 2010 IPL, CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat first on a flat pitch. Opening batsman Murali Vijay immediately attacked the Rajasthan Royals bowlers, hitting big shots from the start. He shared important partnerships, including a 152 run stand with Albie Morkel.

Vijay kept hammering bowlers all over the ground, scoring a tremendous unbeaten 127 runs off just 56 balls. His innings contained 8 fours and 11 towering sixes at a blazing strike rate of 226.78. Thanks largely to Vijay’s batting dominance, CSK posted 246/5 – still their highest ever IPL score.

In reply, Rajasthan also batted aggressively with Ojha (94*) and Watson (60 off 25) leading the way. But the huge target was too much as CSK bowled them out for 223 to win by 23 runs. Vijay’s spectacular century set the tone for CSK’s intimidating batting in the next decade of IPL cricket.

#2. CSK’s 2nd Highest Total: 240/5 vs KXIP in 2008

In an early IPL match in 2008, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Mohali. CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat first, which turned out to be a great decision.

Openers Matthew Hayden and Parthiv Patel started strong, scoring quickly. After losing a few quick wickets, Michael Hussey steadied the innings. Suresh Raina, in his first-ever IPL match, batted brilliantly and scored a quick 50 off 32 balls.

The highlight of the match was Michael Hussey’s incredible batting. He scored 116 runs off just 54 balls, hitting 8 fours and 9 huge sixes. Thanks to this fantastic batting, CSK posted a massive total of 240/5 in their 20 overs.

KXIP tried hard to chase the big target but fell short by 18 runs. CSK won the thrilling, high-scoring match, showcasing their batting prowess.

#3. CSK’s 3rd Highest Total: 223/3 vs SRH in 2013  

In 2013, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had a strong team, winning the IPL title two years in a row. In a match against Punjab Kings, CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat first.

The CSK batsmen started well on the good batting pitch in Chennai. After losing their first batsman Vijay early, Michael Hussey batted excellently. Suresh Raina then played a brilliant innings, scoring 99 runs off just 52 balls, hitting many fours and sixes, and dominating the SRH bowlers.

Hussey also batted aggressively, scoring 67 runs off 42 balls. Raina and Hussey put on 133 runs together for the 2nd wicket partnership. Their explosive batting took CSK to an impressive total of 223 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs.

In response, the SRH batsmen struggled with the huge target. They managed only 146 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. CSK won the match comfortably by 77 runs, marking one of their biggest wins in IPL history.

## Other Notable High Totals

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had two memorable batting performances where they scored over 200 runs:

CSK’s 218/4 vs MI in IPL 2021: In the IPL final of 2021, CSK and MI both played really well. CSK batted first and thanks to Faf du Plessis who scored 86 runs and Moeen Ali who made 58 not out, they reached a total of 218 runs. Ambati Rayudu and Ravindra Jadeja also played fast at the end to help the team. MI tried hard but couldn’t win, and CSK won the match by 23 runs, getting their fourth IPL title.

Raina and Rayudu Power CSK to 210/7 vs LSG: In the 2022 season, CSK showed they were still strong. They chose to bat first and the top players set a good foundation. Suresh Raina scored a quick 54 runs from 35 balls, and Ambati Rayudu was very impressive with 78 not out from 55 balls. Their efforts helped CSK post another score over 200. However, LSG chased down the target and won the game by 6 wickets on the last ball.
