As a result, Curran has now become the first ever most-paid english player in the history of the Indian Premier League auctions, following former Indian cricketer ben stokes.
The salaries of two other players were equal to or exceeded those of Morris. Mumbai Indians have bought the young Australian all-rounder Cameron Green for a reported Rs 17.5 crore. The Chennai Super Kings have purchased the England star Ben Stokes for a sum of Rs 16.25 crore.
Nicholas Pooran was bought by Lucknow Supergiants for Rs 16 crore and he became the most expensive West Indian player in the history of the game. To Sunrisers Hyderabad, England batter Harry Brook was sold for a price of Rs 13.25 crore. As part of the deal, SRH also bagged Mayank Agarwal for a sum of Rs 8.25 crore.
The first player to be sold for Rs 2 crore to the Gujarat Titans was Kane Williamson. Gujarat Titans took pacer Shivam Mavi for a sum of Rs 6 crore while Delhi Capitals had picked up Mukesh Kumar for a sum of Rs 5.5 crore, among the surprise picks.
