Anshul Kamboj IPL Stats, Wickets, Price, Age, Debut, Team, Salary

Anshul Kamboj is the Haryana fast bowler whose name exploded into the headlines with a historic 10-wicket haul in the Ranji Trophy — and whose IPL value skyrocketed from INR 20 lakh to INR 3.4 crore within a year. A right-arm fast-medium bowler with a skiddy action and a big heart, Kamboj debuted in the IPL with Mumbai Indians before Chennai Super Kings made him one of the most expensive uncapped buys of the 2025 mega auction. This article covers Anshul Kamboj’s IPL stats, wickets, price, age, debut, teams and salary.

Anshul Kamboj Profile and Early Career

Anshul Kamboj was born on 6 December 2000 in Karnal, Haryana. He came through Haryana’s age-group system as a hardworking seam bowler, known for hitting the deck, moving the ball both ways, and bowling long, honest spells.

His domestic breakthrough came in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season, when he produced one of the great bowling performances in the tournament’s history — taking all 10 wickets in an innings (10/49) for Haryana against Kerala in November 2024. He became only the third bowler in Ranji Trophy history to take all 10 wickets in an innings, joining an elite list. The feat transformed him from a promising domestic seamer into a nationally discussed prospect.

Anshul Kamboj IPL Debut and Teams

Anshul Kamboj made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in the 2024 season. MI bought him in the December 2023 auction at his base price of INR 20 lakh, and he played a handful of matches in his debut campaign, showing good pace and composure.

His life changed at the IPL 2025 mega auction, when Chennai Super Kings bought him for a staggering INR 3.4 crore after a bidding war. The price reflected both his Ranji heroics and CSK’s long-standing love for hardworking Indian seamers.

Anshul Kamboj IPL Auction Price and Salary

The jump from INR 20 lakh to INR 3.4 crore — a 17-fold increase — is one of the great auction stories of recent IPL history. It shows how a single extraordinary domestic performance can rewrite a player’s market value overnight.

Anshul Kamboj IPL Career Stats

Kamboj’s IPL career is young, but his trajectory is steep. He has played for both Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, used mainly as a new-ball and middle-overs option.

Career figures are approximate early-career records; his wicket tally is growing with each season.

His best IPL performances have shown a bowler unafraid to attack the stumps, with a heavy ball that hurries batsmen. CSK used him in a variety of roles in 2025, including with the new ball.

The Historic Ranji Trophy 10-Wicket Haul

In November 2024, playing for Haryana against Kerala at Lahli, Anshul Kamboj took 10 wickets for 49 runs in a single innings. He became the third bowler ever to take all 10 wickets in a Ranji Trophy innings.

The spell was a masterclass in seam bowling — relentless accuracy, subtle movement, and the stamina to keep running in all day. It came just weeks before the IPL 2025 mega auction, and it is no coincidence that his price exploded immediately afterwards. Franchises had seen, in one innings, everything they needed to know.

Anshul Kamboj Bowling Style

Kamboj bowls right-arm fast-medium, generally in the 135-140 kph range, with a skiddy, stump-to-stump action. His strengths are:

– Relentless accuracy and the ability to bowl long spells

– Natural seam movement both ways

– A heavy ball that climbs on batsmen

– Composure beyond his years in pressure situations

Unlike many young quicks, Kamboj does not rely on raw pace. His method is built on discipline and repetition — the classic recipe for a successful Indian domestic seamer, and one that CSK has historically turned into IPL success.

Domestic Career with Haryana

Beyond the famous 10-fer, Kamboj has been a consistent performer for Haryana across formats. He has led their pace attack in the Ranji Trophy and contributed in white-ball cricket as well. His domestic first-class record shows a bowler with an excellent strike rate and the ability to run through sides.

His performances earned him a place in India A discussions, and many observers see him as a future national-team prospect if his development continues on its current path.

What Next for Anshul Kamboj

At just 25, Kamboj’s career is only beginning. His immediate challenge is to convert his INR 3.4 crore price tag into consistent IPL performances for Chennai Super Kings. CSK’s track record of developing Indian seamers — from Mohit Sharma to Deepak Chahar — suggests he is in the right place.

The longer-term goal is the Indian team. With his domestic record, his auction value, and his age all in his favour, Kamboj is one of the most closely watched young fast bowlers in the country.
