By the time the Powerplay ended, Narine had reached fifty points, while Lynn had reached 49 points. As a result, the Power Play score of 105 was the highest in the history of the IPL and the entire IPL competition.
It was also a match in which Narine had bragged that he had made his IPL half century in the quickest time ever (off 15 balls).

The Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) recorded the fifth-best powerplay score in IPL history, scoring 86/1 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 2014 season. KXIP went on to win the match by six wickets, chasing down SRH’s total of 211 runs with ease.
KXIP’s powerplay score was anchored by Manan Vohra and Wriddhiman Saha, who scored 47 runs and 37 runs, respectively. Vohra and Saha ensured that KXIP got off to a blazing start, despite losing Virender Sehwag early in the chase.
