There have been a few teams that scored higher totals than their opponents. Here is the list of highest totals in T20 WC history.
Sri Lanka Scored 260/6 in ICC T20 World Cup
Sri Lanka had once dominated the T20 format with the likes of Dilshan, Sangakkara, and Jaywardene. Sri Lanka posted 260/6 in 20 overs as they batted first in the T-20 World Cup 2007 against Kenya.

England Set Target of 230/8 in T20 WC History
In the 2016 T20 World Cup, England was fearsome. In the chase against South Africa, they recorded the 2nd highest total in the history of the T20 World Cup.
While batting first, South Africa set a mountainous score of 229-4 against England in the 18th match of the 2016 T20 World Cup. After chasing down the target, England posted the second highest T20 score in World Cup history of 230/8.

The South Africans used to be one of the best teams in the T20 format. The T20 World Cup recorded the third highest total in history for them when batting first against England in 2016.
450+ runs were scored in both innings of the 18th game of the T20 World Cup 2016. South Africa still holds the third highest total in T20 World Cup history, despite the fact that England chased down the target in the 2nd innings.
India Was able to Make Highest Score in T20 WC 218/4
In the Indian cricket team, you will always have a strong batting line up regardless of the season. The same applies to the 20-20 World Cup as well. When India batted first against England at Durban on 19th September 2007, the team posted a big target of 218/4 in the inaugural season of the T20 World Cup. India and England played their 21st group game at night.
South Africa ‘s Second Highest Score in T20 World Cup 211/5

South Africa played Scotland in the 5th Group D match of the T20 World Cup 2009 at The Oval on 7th June 2009. While batting first against Scotland, South Africa posted a large total of 211/5. South Africa’s innings were dominated by Ib de Villiers’ 79th innings.

While batting first against Afghanistan during the 2016 T20 World Cup, South Africa posted the 6th highest total in T20 World Cup history. At Mumbai Cricket Stadium, South Africa and Afghanistan played their 20th Super 10 match.

What’s this? South Africa again posts the 7th highest total in T20 World Cup history. In this match of T20 World Cup 2007, Proteas took on West Indies in Johannesburg on 11th September 2007.
When West Indies batted first against South Africa, they posted a large target of 205/6. The Proteas responded with a total of 208/2, which ranked as 7th highest in T20 World Cups.

The eighth-highest total in the history of the T20 World Cup belongs to West Indies. In the inaugural match of the 2007 T20 World Cup, which took place in Johannesburg on 11th September, they achieved this record against South Africa.
With 205/6 against South Africa, West Indies posted one of the highest totals in T20 World Cups. His first hundred at the World T20 was the highlight of the match for Chris Gayle

Apart from South Africa, the only other team to make our list twice is West Indies. When they faced Australia in 2012’s T20 World Cup, they scored the 9th highest total in the tournament.
It was the second-semi final match of T20 WC 2012 between West Indies and Australia on 5th October, when West Indies scored 205/4 batting first against Australia at the Colombo cricket stadium. In that match, West Indies’ Chris Gayle scored 75 points and was the top scorer.
Pakistan ‘s Highest Score in T20 World History 201/5
The final country on the list is Pakistan with the 10th best T20 World Cup total in history. During the 14th match of the 2016 T20 World Cup, Pakistan posted 201/5 while batting first against Bangladesh. Pakistan’s leading run scorers in that match were Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Hafeez, and Shahid Afridi
