#1. RCB’s Highest IPL Total: 263/5 vs PWI in 2013 

RCB scored their highest-ever total in IPL history against Pune Warriors India (PWI) in 2013. RCB batted first after winning the toss and got a great start with Chris Gayle’s amazing inning. Gayle, also known as the ‘Universe Boss’, made a record-breaking score of 175 runs off just 66 balls. He hit 13 fours and an incredible 17 sixes, with a strike rate of 265.15.

Gayle’s outstanding performance helped RCB reach a score of 263/5 in 20 overs, which is the highest-ever score in IPL. In response, Pune Warriors struggled and only managed to score 133 runs, resulting in a massive 130-run victory for RCB. Gayle’s score of 175* remains the highest individual score in IPL till now.

#2. 262/7 vs SRH in 2024

In the 30th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. RCB managed to score 262/7 in their allotted 20 overs, with Virat Kohli contributing 42 runs and Dinesh Karthik scoring 83 runs.

#3. 248/3 vs GL in 2016

RCB achieved their second-highest IPL total against Gujarat Lions (GL) in 2016. AB de Villiers played an incredible innings, leading RCB to a score of 248/3 while batting first.

De Villiers was in outstanding form, scoring 129 runs off just 52 balls, including 10 fours and 12 huge sixes. Thanks to his brilliant century, RCB set a tough target of 249 runs for GL.

The Gujarat Lions’ batting lineup, which included players like Aaron Finch, Brendon McCullum, and Dwayne Smith, struggled against RCB’s bowling attack. They could only manage 104 runs before getting all out in 18.4 overs, resulting in a massive 144-run victory for RCB.

#4. 235/1 vs MI in 2015 IPL  

During an IPL 2015 league match against Mumbai Indians (MI), RCB achieved another impressive total while batting first, scoring 235/1 in 20 overs.

AB de Villiers, the talented South African player, once again played a leading role with the bat. He scored an unbeaten 133 runs off just 59 balls, helping RCB reach the formidable total. De Villiers hit 12 boundaries and 8 sixes with an incredible strike rate of 225.42.

In reply, Mumbai Indians fought hard with half-centuries from Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard. However, chasing 236 runs proved too challenging as MI finished with 196/7 in 20 overs. RCB won the match by 39 runs.

#5. 227/4 vs SRH in 2016   

In an IPL 2016 league match, RCB faced SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and posted a huge total of 227/4 while batting first.

RCB’s captain, Virat Kohli, played a pivotal role by scoring a well-crafted half-century, making 75 runs off 51 balls. AB de Villiers also contributed with a quickfire 82 off 42 balls, adding the finishing touches to RCB’s innings. Their partnership propelled RCB to a formidable total of 227/4 in 20 overs.

In reply, SRH started well but lost momentum after David Warner’s dismissal. They ended with a score of 182/7, falling short by 45 runs. RCB successfully defended their total, backed by impressive performances from bowlers like Shane Watson and Kane Richardson.

#6. 226/3 vs KXIP in 2015

RCB achieved their fifth highest IPL total in the 2015 season against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Veteran opener Chris Gayle played an outstanding inning, scoring 117 runs off just 57 balls, which helped RCB reach a score of 226/3.

Gayle’s impressive innings included 10 fours and 8 big sixes, with a fantastic strike rate of 205.26. In the bowling department, RCB performed exceptionally well and bowled out Punjab for a mere 88 runs in just 13.1 overs.

Spinner Iqbal Abdulla played a crucial role, taking 4 wickets for just 12 runs. RCB secured a massive victory by 138 runs, which remains their biggest win in IPL history.
