WATCH : Yadav pays tribute to Dhoni with stunning helicopter shot in 3rd T20I

Suryakumar Yadav played a stunning helicopter shot off Alzarri Joseph in the 13th over of India’s chase of 160 runs in the third T20I against West Indies.

The ball went over the square leg fence for a six, but Yadav departed soon after on the fourth ball of the over.Yadav came into bat after India lost their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill early. He put on a 64-run partnership with Tilak Varma to put India in a commanding position. In the 13th over, Joseph bowled a full delivery outside off stump. Yadav stepped out of the crease and hit it over the square leg fence for a six.

However, he tried to hit another six off the next ball, but it went straight to Brandon King at long-off. Yadav was out for 39 off 31 balls. India eventually won the match by 8 wickets with 10 balls to spare.

Yadav’s helicopter shot was reminiscent of MS Dhoni, who is known for his trademark shot. Yadav said that he has been practicing the shot for a while and it was good to get it off in a match.

“I have been practicing the helicopter shot for a while now,” Yadav said after the match. “It is a good shot to play against fast bowlers when they are bowling full deliveries outside off stump. I am glad that I got it off in a match and it helped us to get a good score.”

Yadav’s knock was crucial in India’s victory. He showed great composure and played some excellent shots against some quality bowling. He is one of the most talented batsmen in India and he will be looking to continue his good form in the upcoming matches.
